FREEZE YOUR CREDIT
So Your CREDIT INFORMATION was STOLEN - YOU NEED TO DO THIS:
Immediately arrange with the Three Big USA Credit Companies,
Equifax, Experian and Transunion to FREEZE YOUR CREDIT.
"This added layer of security means that thieves can't establish
new credit in your name even if they are able to obtain your ID.
Freezes have been available for free to victims of ID theft for
some years, but recently all three of the major credit bureaus
adopted new rules allowing non-victims to have access to credit
freezes as well for a small fee.
Freezing your credit files has no impact whatsoever on your existing
lines of credit, such as credit cards. You can continue to use them
as you regularly would even when your credit is frozen." -
DO NOT LOSE THE PIN NUMBER THEY GIVE YOU, OR ELSE
YOU CAN NOT UNFREEZE YOUR CREDIT.
I strongly suggest freezing your credit whether or not you know
you information has been stolen. and with all the Data Breaches
these days, your personal informaation probably has been stolen.

CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD NOW.
YOU CAN USE THIS SITE TO DETERMINE IF YOUR EMAIL ACCOUNT IS KNOWN TO BE HACKED:
(This is NOT foolproof, you may be hacked, but not on this list of known hacks)
https://heroic.com/
HEROIC Probably only works if you are in the USA???
If you put your email address into the program, where it asks for it, Heroic will
search it's database of stolen email information that is available out on the Dark Web.
If HEROIC finds your email address, IT TELLS YOU FROM WHAT
COMPANY YOUR INFROMATION WAS STOLEN. You then know that your email address, ID,
password (for the site that was hacked), perhaps your birth date and often financial
data was stolen by hackers and is available for purchase.
IN OTHER WORDS, CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD on any SITES belonging to the hacked company
[Yahoo in this assumption].
For example, mine says that my information on "LinkedIn" was stolen and is for sale.
I then changed the password that I use for my LinkedIn account.
USE A SECURE (hard to guess) PASSWORD
Note also - Let's assume that Heroic.com says that your private information was stolen
from "Yahoo", you can then google: yahoo hack and check to see when the lastest
hack TOOK PLACE. If you've already changed your password for this site (Yahoo), you
should be safe from THAT hack of Yahoo (but they might have your credit info).
NOTE this database will only have older information (it takes a while for the Hack
to get noticed and your information put into the HEROIC database. Most hacks are
never detected.
Therefore, If you ARE on the list, YOU HAVE BEEN HACKED
If you are NOT on the list, you may STILL have been hacked.
HEROIC returned only "LinkedIn" for me, But I know that my data was stolen from YAHOO
(over one billion stolen accounts, just was noticed) and some banks - so the list is
not up-to-date (there is no way the database will be up-to-date).

important information about a security breach - Scottrade
"Based upon our subsequent internal investigation coupled with information provided

encrypted at all times and we have not seen any indication of fraudulent activity as
a result of this incident." Excerpted from an email I received today (10/8/2015), from Scottrade.
