Norovirus is the most frequent pathogen implicated in foodborne infections in
the United States. This is a highly contagious virus. It can be spread through
food, drink and contact.
Other common pathogens that cause foodborne illnesses include bacteria such
as salmonella, campylobacter, listeria and E. coli, and parasites like
toxoplasma.
Another common problem is neglecting to wash vegetables and fruits. Even if
you are going to peel them.

involved noticed metal shaving in a package of ground turkey from the recalling firm, and
notified the company.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these
products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them.

Some recall lists seem to list UPC and USE BY DATE, others use UPC and Production Unit
Character - for example some of Kroger recalls had a Production Unit ID of xxxxKxx,
where the fifth character from the left is a 'K'. YOu have to READ RECALL LISTS CAREFULLY.
